Our Programme

Our Programme of Flower Arranging events runs from 1st September to the 31st August annually and provides 12 months of activity for members to enjoy. The programme is designed and created each year by the Club’s Administration Team, who regularly gather feedback from members on ideas to continually develop the content, and look to provide a blend of:

Demonstrations

Where members can enjoy watching skilled and qualified NAFAS demonstrators and/or Florists & Floral Tutors creating floral displays, sharing knowledge, tips and techniques whilst also entertaining with colourful stories and personal experiences. All the flower arrangements created on the day are then available as raffle prizes for members to win and take away and enjoy in their own home.

Workshops

Our skilled and qualified Administration team members organise and run workshops where members can create their own flower arrangements. We provide full worksheets for all members to keep, to help prepare for and complete the workshop, and to take away to recreate again in the future . Step by step instructions, help and support are also provided on the day. Our friendly team are also on hand to lead the workshops and provide help and guidance throughout

Presentation & Talks

Members have the opportunity to come along and listen to guest speakers providing entertainment and knowledge from both the flower world and beyond.

Club Outings/Social Events 

We try to organise a range of social activities to meet members’ needs. These may include a trip to an annual RHS Flower show e.g. Harrogate, Tatton or an organised lunch complete with fun and entertainment.

Membership

The Annual membership subscriptions are due for payment in September each year for the full years programme, however we welcome and encourage new members, whether a beginner or experienced flower arranger, to join us throughout the year.  Subscriptions are calculated on a pro rata basis, dependent on how many months of the annual programme the new member will enjoy.

The annual subscription for the 2021/2022 year is £50

Visitors

We warmly encourage and welcome visitors to join us, to see what we do, pick up some flower arranging tips and maybe consider joining us as a member in the future. We usually charge a small fee of £6 per visit (excluding the Christmas demonstration in November) for a maximum of 2 visits per year, which we hope gives anyone considering a membership the opportunity to experience the club and its activities and see what great value for money we are.

WHEN DO WE MEET

The club meets on the third Wednesday of every month (except July)

Demonstrations and workshops start at 2pm. Refreshments available from 1.30pm
